50 Cent has a lot on his plate lately- Movies, books, video games and, oh yeah, music. With all the recent hubbub of singings over at G-Unit Records, will 50 have to change his winning formula?
"I'm kinda going left a little bit, but not too far from where my audience already embraced me," he said to MTV. "Anything that changes too fast is no good. You shouldn't expect me to come to you with my next album totally different from what you already know. In the history of music there hasn't been an artist that's successful I did my research, so trust me that put out an album that was themed with a split personality or more than one type of personality."
50 cited many artists in the past who tried to go too many directions and failed.
"Ask Nelly about Sweat and Suit," he said. "There's been a few Tracey Lee's , Cassidy's Spilt Personality none of those projects work because the general public typecasts. So when you give them something that isn't what they want, they'll be like, 'No, that isn't want I wanted. I don't care what you feel like today.' "
So it looks like if Ma$e, M.O.P. and Mobb Deep ain't broke, then don't fix it. In the meanwhile, "Hustla's Ambition" from the soundtrack of "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" has just been leaked to the net. But the first official single for the soundtrack will be "Window Shopper."
