Every Eminem fan knows that Hailie is Em's daughter -- she's in plenty of songs and is a big part of the rapper's life. So who's this Laney that he references in his newest single, "Mockingbird"?
"Laney I'm talkin' to you, too, daddy's still here," Eminem sings in the song.
Fan boards across the Internet have been buzzing with newer fans asking veteran Eminem followers about Laney's connection to the star.
It turns out, Laney is Eminem's other daughter -- kind of.
Legally, she is Alaina Mathers and is Eminem's adopted daughter. Alaina, 11, is the rapper's ex-wife Kim's twin sister's daughter. She is really his niece, but he has custody of the girl and he is raising her as Hailie's sister -- even though they are cousins.
"Mockingbird" is Em's way of explaining to the two girls that Kim is not around. The couple are currently estranged.
Eminem appears to be spoiling the girls equally. According to British tabloid reports, he spent more than $375,000 on matching diamond necklaces for them at Christmas.
