Ca$his reveals double disc debut
Shady Records recording artist Cashis is real excited right now. Not only does he have an EP, with County Hound, out that sold more than he and his label expected, but he is also enjoying triple platinum success with the Shady compilation, The Re-Up, which he is featured on seven songs of. Now, as records non-stop for his debut record, titled Loose Cannon, the rapper is gearing up for its release sometime this year -- actually a first quarter release is what he told us.
The Orange County, California native told BallerStatus at a recent private Interscope Records event that he's pushing for a summer release of his major label debut, but before then, fans can expect some free music that he will release on his own. |

Dr. Dre sees a new future in electronic industry
In the flailing mess that is the recording industry of 2008, plenty of hard questions keep executives up at night. Some stare at the cruel ledger all day and ask "Where is our business?" Others ask a better (or at least more optimistic) question: "What is our business?"
That second question brought Jimmy Iovine, one of the industry's top executives, and Dr. Dre, one of the most esteemed stars on his roster, to Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show, an event that by Sunday night left both a bit blinkered.
"I love coming to Vegas," Dre said, "but I love leaving it too." |

Tony Yayo: Dr. Dre & Eminem on new G-Unit LP
"I just came from court, I got my Donald Trump button-up on," Tony Yayo said with a smile on Thursday afternoon (January 10) while sitting in the G-Unit's Manhattan office.
Yayo, born Marvin Bernard, had been in court earlier in the day to make an appearance before his upcoming trial on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, assault and harassment in connection with his alleged role in the roughing up of the then-14-year-old son of Game manager Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond in March. According to Yayo's lawyer Scott Leemon, the district attorney revealed in court that the co-defendant in the case, honorary G-Unit member Lowell "Lodi Mack" Fletcher, was interviewed by the infamous New York Police Department "hip-hop squad" following his arrest in the case last year, but that police did not disclose that conversation to the district attorney's office until recently. |
