Brittany Murphy, in her own words: '8 Mile' and Eminem

Brittany Murphy may be best remembered as one of cinema's most memorable makeovers, going from frumpy to fabulous as Tai Fraiser in "Clueless," but her turn alongside Eminem in "8 Mile" was something entirely different: a chance to play the love interest of one of the biggest stars on the planet in a film that grossed a ton of money and became one of 2002's cultural touchstones.

The role of Alex, an aspiring model hanging out in Detroit's shady back alleys, garnered Murphy some of the finest reviews of her career. In a 2006 interview with MTV News, the actress, who died on Sunday at the age of 32, looked back at the experience and how it combined two of her great loves - acting and music.

A Shady Christmas

A perfect post-Christmas gift from Eminem is sure to bring joy (or despair) to all.

Em, whose "Relapse: Refill" bonus-track re-release drops today, has a collection of "Shady Claus"-inspired images where users can upload a picture of themselves (or a loved/hated one) sitting on the lap of the rapper. He'll then sign the photo.

And, best of all, all proceeds will go to the Marshall Mathers Foundation for the support and development of disadvantaged youth.

Prints cost $24.95 and will take 4-6 weeks for delivery. For more, www.eminem.com/printroom/.

Also, two clips of Shady Claus promoting "Refill" were released Monday.

Brittany Murphy Dies at 32 (1977 - 2009)

Brittany Murphy, the actress who broke out with the teen comedy "Clueless" and gained critical acclaim for her role as rapper Eminem's love interest in the hip-hop drama "8 Mile," died Sunday morning of sudden cardiac arrest, police said. She was 32.

Los Angeles city firefighters responded to a medical call about 8 a.m. at the 8,000-square-foot home Murphy shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the hills above the Sunset Strip.

There were conflicting reports as to whether Murphy was discovered by Monjack or her mother.

Firefighters tried unsuccessfully to revive Murphy on the way to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead about two hours later.

Los Angeles police are investigating the cause of Murphy's death, said Officer Norma Eisenman. Investigators and coroner's officials were at her home Sunday as paparazzi camped outside.

Authorities said Murphy was taking prescription drugs for a variety of medical ailments and said preliminary indications do not point to foul play.

An autopsy is planned for Tuesday, a coroner's official said.

Adam Lambert on possible Eminem 'Elevator' song diss

Eminem who has a new song entitled, Elevators, has been making headlines. The controversy is over a possible homophobic slur. The song is from Eminem's upcoming album set to be released, entitled, Relapse: Refill.

As MTV reports, Lambert says of the song and controversy: "Well, you know, he used a word that's not necessarily very nice, but I'm sure he's got some sort of justification for it. And I'm not going to take it personally. It's cool, Eminem! If you get mentioned in an Eminem song, you're doing something right. And I'm sure he was planning on creating some controversy, because he's a smart guy."

Method Man and Redman to Eminem: "We're On Your Tour!"

LOS ANGELES - The good news for Eminem is that Method Man and Redman are coming on tour with him. The bad news? He doesn't know it yet.

"Hey, Eminem," Method Man barked into our mic recently, giving a heads-up to Sunday's MTV Movie Awards main act. "F--- that. Yo, Paul! We're on the tour, man!"

"Paul!" Redman chimed in, also addressing Em's manager, Paul Rosenberg, directly. "Hey, Paul, we're on the tour, baby!"

"You know my number," Redman said to Rosenberg. "Yo, Eminem. Yo, Paul - we on the tour, man."

"Even if he don't put us on, we're coming in through the back door, jumping onstage," he added.

Eminem: 'Crack A Bottle' video leaked!

Eminem Crack a Bottle video Clip mimics Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent's styles without actual cameos.

The video for Eminem's "Crack a Bottle," featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, hit the Web late Monday, and although none of the platinum rappers appear in the clip, the song has plenty of references to each star.

The video opens with a homeless woman seated on the ground next to a shopping cart filled with her possessions. The woman experiences a maniacal fit before reaching out for a paper bag that conceals a 40-ounce bottle of liquor. Once the bottle is free from the bag, it splits open to reveal an apartment building and the camera zooms in on room 313 - which also happens to be Detroit's area code.

Enter Slim Shady. Well, not exactly. But despite the rapper's absence, the scene is straight from the depths of Em's (at times) warped mind. A businessman, gagged and tied to a chair in a dilapidated room, is taunted by a mentally unstable version of himself. Images of an innocent-looking girl and, oddly, an elephant flash onscreen before the man escapes and Em's verse ends.
