XXL has been in existence for more than 10 years now. (Perhaps you noticed the sirloin-thick anniversary issue that tilted your local newsstand six months back.) In that time, since September 1997, we’ve put out 99 magazines covering, as the saying goes, hip-hop on a higher level—all the moments that made the music mean so much.

It should be noted, of course, that 1997 is significant for another reason. The death of the Notorious B.I.G. in March of that year closed what stands as the most momentous chapter in hip-hop history: the great Brooklyn MC’s rivalry with his California counterpoint, Tupac Shakur. In that light, the XXL era can be seen as the post–Biggie-Tupac era.

As we watch and wait to learn what will define the future, we cast an eye back at what we’ve witnessed so far. In celebration of our 100th issue, here are the 100 biggest hip-hop moments of our time.

Young Buck has apparently left G-Unit to sign with Cash Money Records..

50 Cent features on the list of Hip-Hop's 100 biggest moments for signing up as a part of Eminem and Dr. Dre's group. The list was compiled by XXL magazine and lists 50 Cent joining to create the G-Unit-Shady-Aftermath team as 'the final piece of the puzzle'.

That moment beat Jay-Z's show-stopping performance at the Hot 97 Summer Jam in 2001, when he was joined onstage at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York by Michael Jackson.

Not even a month into '08, and Swizz already has his hands full with just-released music and tracks that are ready for the next few months. He's most excited about a reunion of the Ruff Ryders for their first family album. It will include himself, X, the LOX and Drag-On — all the originals who first exploded 10 years ago.

In a nod to a beloved Saturday Night Live sketch that became a cult classic movie, Diet Pepsi MAX will show how difficult it can be to maintain focus in the course of a day on the job, an evening at the Super Bowl or even a Night at the Roxbury and how easy it is to focus your mind and boost your energy with Diet Pepsi MAX.

As this commercial demonstrates, sluggishness and fatigue can hit anybody, even musical giants Missy Elliott, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes and Macy Gray, all of whom are caught nodding off until they are brought back to full consciousness by Diet Pepsi MAX.

Dubbed the "All Star QB + G-Unit Tribute to Prodigy," the party will feature P performing his latest solo release, H.N.I.C. 2, in its entirety. Unnamed special guests are also scheduled to appear.

Prodigy is preparing to do a three-and-a-half-year bid for weapons charges after being caught with a loaded, unregistered .22-caliber gun in his $150,000 bulletproof SUV in 2006.

He was originally scheduled to report to prison in January, but was granted a five-week extension, reportedly to give his doctors time to assemble his medical records in light of the fact that he suffers from sickle cell disease.

Dubcnn had the great opportunity of sitting down with Young Buck for an in-depth interview. Buck talks to them about his label Cashville Records, signing the Outlawz and C-Bo, the "Product Of The South" compilation and what to expect from it, working with Brotha Lynch, and his love for the West Coast.

They also talk about his relationship with G-Unit, his upcoming solo album, the G-Unit album, his past problems with Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and The Game, his ventures outside of music, Bucks predictions for 2008 and much more.

Eminem is one of the guests on Trick Trick's upcoming independent LP, The Villain.

"He's still the coldest that ever did it. The game needs his album. He's rapping on my album track 'Who Want It.' He's like, 'Who want it?' [In the song] he's hanging out and these f---ing idiots are always at it. If you want it, come get it. He ain't trying to do nothing but be Em. I'm being me. If you want it, I got ya. He's Em on there. He's going for it. Whoever wants some can come get it. Em produced and rapped on it."
