News:

No Super Bowl halftime performers verified yet

OK, Eminem fans, don't set your TiVos just yet. The folks helping to plan next year's Super Bowl festivities at Ford Field downplayed media reports Friday that the Detroit rapper and Motown legend Stevie Wonder are atop the list of planned halftime performers.

Eminem, Juice etc.

This is the stuff legends are made of.

Back in 1997, long before Slim Shady became a household name, a 24-year-old Chicago MC named Juice battled the up-and-coming Detroit rapper Eminem at ScribbleJam, the annual Midwestern hip-hop festival. Juice was on a hot streak all morning, and the final round pitted the two against each other. Then relatively unknown, Eminem wowed fans and adversaries, but didn't hold up in the final bout. Juice won the battle, but it was Eminem who went on to stardom, and a genuine hip-hop folktale was born.

Update: Jadakiss not threatened, suspects were fans

Jadakiss called into radio queen Wendy Williams' show this afternoon to refute reports of 4 men brandishing a gun at him.

Apparently, Kiss had just finished his performance at The Official Tribute To The Notorious B.I.G. at NYC's Roxy nightclub, when he left without security. Fans waiting outside saw the Yonkers firespitter and showed their support of his recently leaked diss track aimed at 50 Cent.

Jadakiss told Wendy that as the crowd cheered him on, some fans in a truck, "flashed their hammer to show their support, but they ain't know a blue suit had peeped it." Kiss explained that the cop told the men to pull over and that's when the men attempted to drive away, but hit a squad car instead. Kiss said, "Those were actually fans that were arrested" and that the men were not a threat to him or anyone else in the area. Kiss asserted that it's the police that are hyping the situation "to make it look like all Hip-Hop is bad."

Jadakiss responds to 50 Cent's Piggybank over internet

Rapper Jadakiss has struck back at his new rival 50 Cent on a recently released track that has hit the internet.

The record is already being played on national radio airwaves in the United States. The dis track is Jadakiss' response to 50 Cent’s dis record Piggy Back, which took shots at Jada, Fat Joe, Nas and others.

50 Cent reasoned that both Jadakiss and Fat Joe were in his cross-hairs because of “New York, New York,” the hit song they recorded with his rival, The Inc.’s Ja Rule.

"I had beef with an old head, he been around forever and everyone know who he is," 50 Cent recently told AllHipHop.com, in apparent reference to a feud with Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff. "That is beef. Because of the extent our beef, we are married until death do us part. And if they [Jadakiss and Fat Joe] want to stand so close to him that they become a part of our relationship, then I make their life hard."

More about - 50 Cent: Bulletproof

More details on 50 Cent's new videogame.

March 3, 2005 - Look out Snoop, you're not the only rapper strutting into the videogame limelight. Eminem's protige, 50 Cent, is teaming up with Vivendi Universal to create a unique videogame property starring the hip-hop superstar. 50 Cent: Bulletproof isn't the real-life tale of 50 growing up (and getting shot nine times), but is instead a fictional story of drugs and violence set in the New York underground.

50 Cent plays a bad-ass who gets double-crossed and dragged into a deadly international conspiracy. With guns in hand and a take-no-prisoners attitude as his armor, 50 rips through the crime families of New York. While little else has been revealed about Bulletproof, rest assured it will feature plenty of action. If the trailer, which debuted on MTV.com, is any indication, expect heavy gunplay, scores of dead people, and a whole lot of 50 up in people's business.

"God's a seamstress who tailor-fitted my pain," says Mr. Cent on his 2003 debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. From the trailer and comments by Executive Producer Andre Emerson, Bulletproof should showcase 50's "one man against the world" attitude. That doesn't mean pals Eminem, Dr. Dre, and members of G-Unit won't be making an appearance. Vivendi's staying silent on potential co-stars for now, but you can check out details on the music of Bulletproof at IGN Music.

"In everything I do, I play to win," said 50 Cent. "I'm out to destroy the competition and my video game is no different. It's a fantasy version of my life. I plan to shake up the videogame world like I did the rap world -- I'm pulling no punches with my game."

50 Cent makes first public comments since shooting incident

In his first public comments since the shooting at Hot 97 on Monday, 50 Cent denied the incident had anything to do with rap battles.

50 appeared with his artist Olivia on BET's '106 & Park' Thursday, the same day his LP 'The Massacre' hit stores. But his new album has been bringing him fewer headlines lately than his record 'Piggy Bank' and his decision to kick the Game out of the G-Unit.

On the show, he once again compared himself to a boxing champ whose title everybody wants. "Where I'm from is aggressive," 50 told the show's hosts. "I was taught to be aggressive, so I say these things."
