Ludacris to appear on 400th episode of The Simpsons this Sunday

Ludacris will appear on the historic 400th episode of The Simpsons this Sunday night (May 20) on FOX. Luda (Chris Bridges) will play himself on the show.
The Simpsons' 400th episode is called 24 Minutes and will be a parody of 24. It will guest star Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub as the characters they play on the popular Fox series: Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian.
Ludacris is currently working on his next solo album entitled "Theater of The Mind" due for release in late 2007. The next release from his DTP Records will be the second Disturbin' Tha Peace compilation album. |

Update: The Game bailed out of jail

The Game posted $50,000 bail today (May 12) and has been released from police custody, after being arrested last night for allegedly making criminal threats.
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers searched the rapper's upscale Glendale, CA home for over three hours starting around 9:00 PM yesterday, in connection with an undisclosed incident that took place in Feb of 2007.
The Game (Jayceon Taylor), was booked at the LAPD's 77th Division on a felony charge of making criminal threats.
Local news cameras caught the rapper in a white Charlotte Hornets t-shirt, smirking in the backseat of an LAPD police cruiser, as he was taken to the police station. |

The Game was arrested by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers in connection with an incident that took place in Feb of 2007.
According to reports, police raided The Game's Los Angeles area home and searched the premises for over three hours.
The Game, born Jayceon Taylor, was eventually charged with making criminal threats.
Bail was set at $50,000. |

Eminem makes donation to Hip-Hop 4 Habitat

Hip-Hop star Eminem is most well known for being a rapper, producer and actor, but now the Detroit native can add philanthropist to his lengthy list of accomplishments.
Today (May 10) an undisclosed amount was donated on behalf of Eminem's Marshall Mathers Foundation program to Hip-Hop 4 Habitat.
Hip-Hop 4 Habitat is trying to raise $75,000 so they can proceed in building an 1,100 square-foot home in Detroit's east side.
"Hip-Hop 4 Habitat is meant to be a positive project and a way for the Hip-Hop community to come together and support a family in need," Alyce Hartman, founder of A Prophetic Generation, a non-profit organization told The Detroit News . "We're so thankful Trick and Eminem are leading this effort."
When the home is completed volunteers will be treated to a concert by Detroit rapper Trick-Trick; Trick-Trick will also help volunteers build the home. |

Debut album of Hood Surgeon, Dr. Dre's son

Affluent Records is planning to release the debut album from Hood Surgeon, the son of legendary West coast producer Dr. Dre.
The 16-track album, titled The Hood Surgeon: The Autopsy of Curtis Young, features production by Knocturnal and a cameo appearance by David Banner.
The Autopsy details Hood Surgeon's life growing up in Compton, CA which has produced a number of legendary rappers, including his father Andre "Dr. Dre" Young, NWA, Eazy-E, The Game, MC Eiht, DJ Quik and numerous others.
"It’s like, you know you’re gonna hear the struggle I went through..." Hood Surgeon told AllHipHop.com in a previous interview. "Motherf**kers can [check up on] my s**t and see what I been through and where I grew up at, and they’ll see that I’m not lying. I’m not gonna say I was out there shooting motherf**kers and doing all that, but I grew up around that, so I might speak on something that happened around me in my music. They ain’t gonna hear me say something I didn’t do." |

Busta rejects plea and seeks to have trials separated

Rapper Busta Rhymes appeared in a Manhattan court today (May 8) and rejected a prosecutors plea deal, stemming from charges involving two altercations last year.
Rhymes appeared in court in a black suit around 9:00 am to face charges that he assaulted his former driver during a dispute over back pay in Dec. of 2006.
Rhymes, born Trevor Smith, is also accused of beating a fan who allegedly spit on his Maybach in Manhattan, after a performance on Randall's Island in Aug. of 2006. |

Xzibit loses drivers license in Holland

Rapper Xzibit lost his license and was fined in Holland, while taking part in The Gumball 3000 Rally.
The Gumball 3000 is an annual 3000 mile international tour that occurs on public roads, typically in Europe.
The event, which is modeled after coast-to-coast competitions in the United States, includes stops at tourist attractions or in large urban centers.
Film, television, music, fashion, and modeling celebrities traditionally compete in the annual event.
Xzibit, who hosts MTV's hit automotive series Pimp My Ride, was among a group of rally participants who, according to reports, were pulled over on Sunday (Apr. 29) by Holland as the cars passed through the Netherlands.
Xzibit was one of seven drivers who had their licenses taken by the police. The rapper was reportedly driving 100 mph in a 60 mph speedzone.
After paying the fine, Xzibit's teammate and well known L.A. producer Fred Wreck assumed driving duties for the rapper's Lamborghini Gallardo. |

UK police forced Lloyd Banks concert to be canceled

(May 4, 2007) Police in the UK obtained a court order that forced a club to close for 24 hours to stop a concert by American rapper Lloyd Banks, amid fears that the show will attract gang members.
According to the Derby Telegraph, over 600 fans bought tickets to see the G-Unit member perform at club T-Five tomorrow (May 5) in Derby.
Derbyshire police were made aware of the performance on Monday (Apr. 30) and applied for a court order to close T-Five, citing a history of violence at concerts featuring Banks and his fellow G-Unit members.
The court order, which was granted by Southern Derbyshire magistrates yesterday, forbids the club from opening for 24 hours starting at noon on Saturday. |

Busta Rhymes released from jail on DWI charge

(May 3, 2007) Busta Rhymes has been released on $7,500 bail, after being arraigned earlier in the day, according to officials.
Representatives for Rhymes told AllHipHop.com that the rapper was formally charged with misdemeanor DWI and Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI), which is a violation, not a criminal offense.
"According to the complaint, he blew a .067 BAC at the station [and] .08 BAC is legally drunk in New York," Rhymes' attorney Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.com. "His license was not suspended and he was immediately released on an agreed upon bail of $7,500 cash."
The rapper is expected to appear in court again Tuesday May 8 to answer the DWI charges.
Rhymes, born Trevor Smith, was also arrested on Feb. 22 in Manhattan for driving with a suspended license. |
