Music's 'immortals' named
NEW YORK, April 08. 2005 - Elton John says that Eminem is on par with Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger.
In the new issue of Rolling Stone, the rapper is listed in the magazine's second "Immortals" edition, featuring another 50 of the greatest figures of rock 'n' roll with appreciations written by other artists. In his immortalizing of Eminem, John writes that he got goose bumps when he first rehearsed with him for their performance at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
Eminem is helping out the Save The Earth Foundation by donating an autographed microphone to raise funds for Earth Day.
Shady and the sultry Beyonce are gearing up for this year's Earth Day (4/22/05) by participating in an online auction. They've both donated autographed microphones to Overstock.com in an effort to raise funds to aid the Save the Earth Foundation. Save The Earth raises money to provide colleges and universities with grants for environmental research and educational courses.

New The Source lawsuit, Benzino NOT resigning...
SOHH.com has exclusively obtained documents filed by former Source Magazine Editor-In-Chief Kim Osorio and former Vice President of Marketing Michelle Joyce alleging gender discrimination against the publication's owners -- just days after Benzino announced his resignation.
Ray Benzino, the Chief Brand Executive and Co-owner of The Source magazine, has resigned from his position at the company today (April 8).
"If me leaving the source is gonna help the magazine then I'll do it," the rapper told AllHipHop.com."The Source is an institution and is part of history; I want my kids and grandkids to enjoy the No. 1 Hip-Hop magazine for all time."
“I want to step down from the magazine and sell my stock effective immediately,” the rapper continued in a statement.
The rapper explained that there were a number of reasons for his departure, including his beef with Eminem, politics and other nearby business partnerships.
Banks offers $1000 for fans to tell. Lloyd Banks recently got hit with a plastic cup during a Scotland performance -- and then offered fans $1000 to point out the offender. Banks reportedly stopped in the middle of his set and made the offer to the crowd in attendance at Glasgow’s Barrowlands.

A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania songwriter has been heavily penalised for bringing a false plagiarism claim against Xzibit and Dr. Dre. Michael Lowe's copyright infringement lawsuit against the rappers was thrown out of a federal appeals court in Philadelphia on Wednesday (March 23), with a judge calling the action "frivolous". Lowe claimed he created the beats for a track on Xzibit's "Restless" album, which is credited to Dr Dre. Lowe will now have to pay Dr Dre's legal fees and court costs.

YOUNGSTOWN - A 30-year-old Stewart Avenue resident who was ambushed and shot up to 18 times by her estranged husband drove herself to St. Elizabeth Health Center, police said.
Regina Jones-Peoples, 2020 Stewart, had just pulled into the driveway of her home about 8 p.m. Thursday, when, according to police, her estranged husband, Marcus Jones, 29, ran up from behind some bushes and hit her several times in the head with the butt of a pistol while yelling obscenities. Jones is believed to live on South Jackson Avenue. Jones then fired the pistol numerous times at close range, hitting Jones-Peoples six times in the abdomen, four times in the legs, five times in the right breast, two times in the neck and once in the left wrist, police said.
