Dr. Dre Comments On Busta Rhyme's Aftermath Debut "The Big Bang"
Multi-platinum recording artist Busta Rhymes will release his Aftermath Entertainment debut, "The Big Bang," on June 13, 2006. The album, his first in three years, showcases a combination of two of the most dynamic, creative forces in hip-hop music as Busta Rhymes teams with super-producer and Aftermath chief, Dr. Dre.
I am deeply saddened by the murder of someone I called a good friend. I've known Proof for over nine years and will always remember him for the joy and life that he brought into every room he entered. We first met at Detroit's Hip Hop Shop where Proof was hosting open mics and was considered by most to be Detroit's freestyle king. Even then you could tell there was something special about him. Some people might be familiar with a well-publicized beef that Proof and I had a couple of years ago. Thankfully though, we had not only resolved our conflict, but we also restored our friendship. Back in December, we went overseas together for a few spot dates in Europe where we had a chance to catch up on "the good ole days". We both laughed at how we sometimes forget how far we've come, until you look out of your hotel window and see London's Big Ben or Paris's Eiffel Tower. On that tour we had a chance to visit cities we never even knew existed. Not bad for two kids from Detroit Huh. His death is such a loss for the hip hop community, and especially for the city of Detroit. I hope that he will be remembered for the talented artist and great person that he was, and not the tragedy that he fell victim to. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family, friends, and anyone that was ever touched by him.
You will forever be loved and remembered..... Royce Da 5'9"

Mobb Deep Feat. Young Buck - Give It To Me
New audio from Mobb Deeps "Blood Money", featuring Young Buck! This is easily the best track from Mobb Deep since they've been signed to G-Unit
I would like to pay my respects to Proof and his family. I can only try to imagine what you are dealing with and I would like to wish you all the strength you need in these awful times. Same thoughts go out to his friends as well. Do not let this tragedy to run you over... instead, make sure you live your life to the fullest, as you never know what tomorrow might bring.
He may be gone, but his memory lives on.

Death of D12 member Proof
A prominent member of Detroit's hip-hop community was killed in a shooting at a Detroit night club early Tuesday morning
Rapper and producer Proof, whose real name is DeShaun Holton, was one of two shooting victims at the CCC Club on east Eight Mile Road, near Gratiot Avenue, according to Detroit police.
When police arrived at the scene, the club was empty, Local 4 reported. Both victims had been taken to a hospital, according to police. Proof was taken to St. John Holy Cross Hospital, and the second victim was taken to St. John Hospital, police said.
I just woke up and turned on abc morning news (ch 7 in Detroit) and they reported breaking news that Proof and someone else were gunned down at the CCC after hours joint around 4 am this morning. They didn't have much footage but they said it was being said that one of the two dead was Proof. That's pretty fucked up. Obie was just shot a few months back. Both groups of Cheddar Boys (local Detroit group) have killed off half of each others members in a war over the name. It seems as if once you make it in the game here in Detroit, you have a better chance of being killed than to further solidify our role in Hip-Hop.

Rapper Obie Trice surprised mentor Eminem during a recent interview by confessing he was trying to sell the superstar's sofa on auction website eBay. In a recent interview with US urban magazine Complex, Eminem admitted he knew nothing about the sofa sale because he rarely surfs the internet. Obie Trice confesses, "I wasn't even really trying to sell the couch. That was one of my homies - we play crazy jokes on each other... It was funny."
