Tuesday - June 5, 2007
Compton rapper The Game was charged with making criminal threats and possessing a firearm in a school zone, which stemmed from an altercation on the basketball court.
As SOHH previously reported, last month Game was arrested after police executed a warrant to search his Glendale, CA home .
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office claims that The Game (born Jayceon Taylor) was involved in an incident on February 24 with a player on an opposing team during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in South L.A.
Game allegedly punched the man and then proceeded to retrieve a gun from his Escalade, threatening to shoot.
In addition to the aforementioned charges, Taylor is also being charged with one count of exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer.
He is scheduled to be arraigned today (June 5) on all three charges, which are all felonies. If convicted, Game could face more than five years in a state penitentiary.
